Hi, its Ruby today I will be telling you about term 4 2019. It has been a very busy term four us, I have participated in heaps of activities this term such as Kapa Haka, Orientation day and Surfing. So I will tell you a little bit about this term, so let's get started!

Kapa Haka

Next of is surfing!
I enjoy surfing so much,  I love getting out and having a nice day out in the water. Every time I go out I try to get bigger waves and go out deep. I have improved so much and love going out and improving my surfing skills! And I enjoy having a great time with friends!
Thirdly is orientation day, I was so excited strolling through the gates of ilminster. I was feeling happy as I had the hole day ahead of me planed! We got into groups and did a digital break out! I made new friends and challenged myself! At the end we went to the pools and had a sausage sizzle.

The best Kapa Haka festival ever

I scanned through the audience looking around, seeing wide eyes focused on the stage, waiting for us to get out there.  I sat there rethinking the moves in my head, wanting to be the best I can be! 'Please give a round of applause for Wainui Beach School!' We quickly moved to our group looking sharp and on track, we were now standing on stage in the showgrounds at the Turanganui Kapa Haka festival on the 20th of November, feeling proud.
Hunter our kaea strolled forward singing, then the audience clapped as we sang stronger as a group.
I thought this was the strongest time ever we have sang, I was stoked. We went there to show of our talent and show what we could do to everyone!

Halfway there we all got our poi out 'Poi kiamo' commanded Matidia, we quickly grabbed our poi  and held it in position waiting silently. 'Purea nei' and we were off! I gracefully swayed my poi around giving a big smile to everyone and doing a gentle takahia. I sang at the top of my lungs singing loud and big. My hair waved back a forward as I swang the poi in front of me enjoying the moment.'Purea nei' The crowd went wild, clapping for ages, I stood there feeling proud and happy! Next was the boys haka I quietly sang it helping them out. They shouted so much that the little kids got scared  and ran to their mums and dads!

Our end song was He Honore, I noticed that the Wai was singing it softly, we exited of stage singing at our best. The front row was still out there singing their best. They all clapped, I saw that the parents smiling and feeling proud of their kids. I had a great time out, I really enjoyed missing a day of school to come and perform. I would definitely do this again next year!

Big body

Last term our focus was on Hauora our physical wellbeing. We got together and thought about how we could learn, create and share our work. We got into our buzz groups and started thinking, what should be our interactive be and how we should display our work. We discovered lots of interesting facts along the way such as you have 3 layers of skin.

We decided that for our interactive we should get  people to press the finger in some ink and then press it on a bit of paper and compare your finger prints to other and see the results with a spyglass. It was all going well until someone(Shea) lost the ink pad! Then it went down hill.

We were looking and looking then we gave up. We had no other option than to get a marker and they had to draw on their finger! After all it turned out to be alright we had a great time and had a great day!

Ciao,Mi chiamo Ruby Dods. This week we have been trying out new languages on this some and educate app called Dualingo if you want to learn some different languages or are going on holiday and need to know how to speak a different language. All you have to do is chooses a lagage to work on a set your goals. Next you learn the basics such as nouns. Thn it starts to get harer in levals and you start to learn basic sentace. If you want to have a trying search up:https://www.duolingo.com/register to have a go and learn something different. It is relevant to me because next year we are planning to go on a family trip to France, Italy, Greece, and England. I hope to keep using this app so that my Italian improves and I can order food knowing that I'm safe from nuts. It would good to help my family read timetables and follow instructions in Italian. I highly recommend using Duulingo, if you are interested in languages or are going traveling. It is simple and easy to understand. Addio until my next update.

Cross country

Butterflies danced around in my stomach, my legs were as wobbly as jelly, i keep reminding myself you can do it. I eyed up Mr Shand not knowing when he would bang the block, i was waiting un patiently ready to get on with it. As soon as Ms Shand banged the block i darted ford trying to aim for the front. I keep on going trying to constraint on the race. My heart was racing around in circles wanting a place in the top 5.

In the distance i heard a chunk of people yelling "Go Ruby" then i started to go faster feeling encouraged and happy. Finally i reached the halfway point feeling that i could get into interschools and get a certificate.

As soon as i saw the finish line i raced my heart, i sprinted across the line feeling proud and excited that i made the top 5. I was panting so hard i was out of breath. I raced to get my drink bottle and a snack. I collapsed to the the ground feeling worn out and thrilled that i made it through to interschools.
